Services Overview
Core Areas of Support
Fern Path focusses on four connected areas at the heart of todays educational challenges: attendance, inclusion, access to learning and workforce capacity.
We work with children, young people, families and education settings to understand barriers, strengthen support and create practical pathways forwards.
Attendance and EBSA
Removing barriers to attendance and engagement.
Professional Development
Building confident teams and sustainable practice.
SEND and Inclusion
Building more inclusive, responsive provision.
Alternative Education and Learning
Creating meaningful pathways.
Attendance & EBSA Support
Helping children and young people feel safe enough to learn, attend and reconnect.
When attendance becomes difficult, the answer is rarely as simple as “getting them back into school”. Fern Path takes a gentle, needs - led approach to attendance and Emotionally Based School Avoidance, exploring what is making education feel difficult and putting the right support around the young person. We work with young people, families and schools to understand barriers, reduce overwhelm and build realistic pathways back towards learning, connection and confidence.
SEND & Inclusion, SEMH & Behaviour Support
Practical support to make inclusion work in everyday school life.
Fern Path works with schools and SENDCos to strengthen inclusive practice, understand barriers to learning and turn SEND priorities into clear, practical action.
From inclusion reviews and strategy development to staff support, resources and targeted consultation, we help schools build provision that is needs-led, evidence informed and achievable within the realities of school life, Practical, compassionate and designed to make a difference.
Alternative Provision & EOTAS-Aligned Support
Alternative Provision and Out of School Tuition. A safe, purposeful pathway back into learning. Fern Path provides individualised. SEND-informed tuition for children and young people who are unable to access their usual school placement, whether this is due to attendance difficulties, EBSA, SEND, anxiety, exclusion or a period of transition. Our approach combines high-quality teaching with relational support, helping young people rebuild confidence, maintain progress and reconnect with learning at a pace that works for them.
Fern Path is working towards becoming an approved local authority provider and aligns with the emerging national standards for high-quality outcomes-focused alternative provision. As the DFE consultation on EOTAS develops, Fern Path is well-placed to meet future requirements and support LA’s in delivering safe, coherent and emotionally attuned provision.

Parent- Commissioned Tuition
Individual support, shaped around your child or young person.
Sometimes children and young people need a different approach to learning, whether they are finding school challenging, need additional support with core skills or simply benefit from a more individualised way of learning.
Fern Path offers personalised tuition built around each young persons interests, strengths and individual needs. Sessions are flexible, nurturing and designed to make learning meaningful, helping young people develop skills, rebuild confidence and rediscover their enjoyment of learning.
Our approach recognises that every young person learns differently. By starting with what motivates them and building on what they can already do, we aim to create positive learning experiences where progress feels achievable.
Online tuition is also available if this approach suits your child or young person better or you live outside of Fern Path’s current commissioning area.
